On a very, very hot day in July, we had the pleasure of witnessing the marriage celebration of Tai and Randy at the Berg Event Space in Kansas City. One of the great things about Tai and Randy is how down to earth they are. They are best friends and chose to spend most of their day together: laughing, crying & having fun before and after the ceremony. Another cool thing about the ceremony– Randy’s brother-in-law had the honor of being the officiant. It is apparent they make family and friends front and center in their lives in so many ways.  Downs & Hyink families, we were honored to be a part of your day. Without further adieu:

Corinne, Erin, Brandon and I spent a warm summer afternoon taking their engagement photos in near north Kansas City (all of us Northlanders at heart). We started out with coffee at LatteLand and ended up in the amazing selection of wines at Red-X. It was a blast and found it was appropriate because they are going to Napa for their honeymoon. Can’t wait until October, thanks for a fun afternoon!

When we photographed the Kansas City engagement of Jen & Erik  in Westport last fall, we knew we were in for a great day when their wedding came around this spring. Much like themseves, their day was a mix of classic and modern style: a morning ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and a laid back reception at the Boulevard Brewery in the evening. Jen and Erik are local food & drink connoisseurs, and planned their fête with care. From personal touches like personalized pint glasses and a Boulevard beer bottle groom’s cake, to a secret handshake and a ride in a KCFD ladder basket (to greet their guests in mid-air!), their day was an expression of their love for each other, their family & friends. Jen & Erik, it was truly a pleasure to get to know you and your loved ones, on this special day.

I wanted to share a few from Amber & Dimitri’s album.. thank goodness summertime is just around the corner, all the green has us eager for warmth. Just to clarify, any pieces of paper you see sticking out are merely to protect the pages in transit– we wanted to get this one on it’s way as soon as possible.  Here’s to Amber & Dimitri!

Stephen and Ashley are up for anything, and we did just that on an unseasonably warm day in late November. They are the kind of couple that has a ton of fun together, no matter what they are doing, and it shows. Thanks for the opportunity to get to know you.. can’t wait until the wedding in October!

Lindy and Jerod are quite a pair. Ballroom dancers, cyclists, divers, and more– Lindy and Jerod share everything they love about the world with one another. Their enthusiasm is contagious. Both hail from small towns and loving families– everyone warm & happy to lend a hand.  From the ceremony at Broadway United Methodist to the reception at the Berg event space, all the details came together beautifully– even when the limo broke down on the way to the reception!
