We spent a gorgeous morning with the Patels at the Nelson a few weeks ago. To say the least– this family is active! They love to have fun, goof off and enjoy each others company. It has been a pleasure watching their beautiful family grow over the years. Enjoy!

When we photographed the Kansas City engagement of Jen & Erik in Westport last fall, we knew we were in for a great day when their wedding came around this spring. Much like themseves, their day was a mix of classic and modern style: a morning ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and a laid back reception at the Boulevard Brewery in the evening. Jen and Erik are local food & drink connoisseurs, and planned their fête with care. From personal touches like personalized pint glasses and a Boulevard beer bottle groom’s cake, to a secret handshake and a ride in a KCFD ladder basket (to greet their guests in mid-air!), their day was an expression of their love for each other, their family & friends. Jen & Erik, it was truly a pleasure to get to know you and your loved ones, on this special day.

Robert has direction, style and warmth. In the fall he will be attending a school near Chicago with emphasis on Jazz studies; perfect location for an exciting future. We had a great time wandering in and around the River Market and West Bottoms taking shots for his grad session. I also love that we were able to use his well-loved car in some of the shots. I know it looks like we posed most of these, but we didn’t(only a couple)..he’s a natural, especially when handling a musical instrument. Without further adieu, a few from Robert’s grad session–

We recently had the pleasure of taking engagement shots of Bryan and Sarah, even though we unfortunately cannot photograph their wedding this summer. Bryan is a talented musician & graphic designer, as well as a long lost friend of ours. We had a great time just hanging out and catching up in the River Market & Hotel Phillips (where they are getting married)— while also catching him & his lovely fiance Sarah in lots of moments (and lots of laughs).

I wanted to share a few from Amber & Dimitri’s album.. thank goodness summertime is just around the corner, all the green has us eager for warmth.
